History Taster Day

Our History tutors will be hosting a Taster Day for Year 12 students on Monday 12 March. This event is open to Year 12 students from the UK maintained (state) sector. We hope the event will give you an insight into studying History at Oxford and help you decide if it is the right course for you!

Tutorial Workshops
Group discussions on a range of historical topics reflecting our tutors’ specialist areas. You will be asked to choose two options (one pre-1700 and one post-1700) and will be sent source material in advance.

Find out how what tutors are looking for in an application, including the UCAS form, History Aptitude Test, submitted written work and interviews.

Application Criteria

To apply you should:

  • be in Year 12 at a state school/college in the UK
  • be studying History to AS/A2 level or equivalent
  • have at least 5 A or A* grades at GCSE (or equivalent)

The closing date for applications is Monday 27 February.

Applications from individual students are encouraged: teachers please note that a maximum of four pupils per school or college may attend the event.
