Teachers' Admissions Conference

Each year Jesus College hosts a Teachers' Admissions Conference.

The date for 2012 is Saturday 28 April.

This event is intended to foster new and established links with schools and colleges and to provide a forum for debate on educational issues. The main presentation (about the College, our admissions procedures, and our work with schools and colleges) leads into a question and answer session which allows teachers to respond, query, critique or applaud any aspect of Oxford admissions or education more generally. The mix of delegates from schools and colleges of all types usually leads to a lively and informative session.

In the afternoon, we will run two mock interview sessions, one in an Arts subject and one in a Science subject. There will also be an opportunity to meet some of our current undergraduates to find out about life and study at Jesus College.

Refreshments and buffet lunch will be provided. There is no charge for the conference. As part of our widening participation work to encourage applications from the maintained sector, we are pleased to be able to offer a contribution towards travel costs incurred by teachers from the UK maintained sector in attending this event.

Selected schools on our regular mailing list will receive invitations in late March, but we would also like to extend the invitation to delegates from schools we have not worked with previously. To request an invitation to this event, please email the Schools Liaison Officer. Applications are welcome from any teacher or careers advisor.

We can welcome up to 50 guests for this event. Preference may be given to teachers from the UK maintained sector who have not previously attended similar events in Oxford.
