Dr Alexandra Gajda
Academic Background
I was an undergraduate and graduate at New College, Oxford, where I read for my BA and DPhil in Modern History. In 2006 I was elected to a Junior Research Fellowship at St Anne’s College, Oxford. In 2007 I was appointed Lecturer in Early Modern History at the University of Birmingham, before joining Jesus in 2011.
Undergraduate Teaching
Sixteenth and seventeenth century British and European history.
Postgraduate Teaching
Sixteenth and seventeenth century political, religious, and intellectual history.
Research Interests
The political and religious history of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth century; literature and history; the history of travel; renaissance historiography.
Other Interests
Fell-walking, reading, cooking, playing the piano badly.
