Dr Jane Sherwood
Academic and Professional Background
I read Classics as an undergraduate at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, following this up with a DPhil in Ancient History. I then lectured in Classics and Ancient History at Royal Holloway, University of London, and worked as a research assistant, before joining Oxford's University Administration and Services. I left the post of Deputy Head of Planning there to become an Official Fellow of Jesus College in 2003, as the first full-time Senior Tutor (which also incorporates the roles of Tutor for Admissions and Tutor for Graduates). In 2009 I rejoined the University Administration and Services as the Director of Graduate Admissions and Funding, and was elected a Hugh Price Fellow at Jesus College from that October. I have recently joined the Executive Committee of the UK Council for Graduate Education.
