Dr Kirsten Christensen
Academic Background
Dr Kirsten E. Christensen attended the University of Aarhus, Denmark as an undergraduate and graduate, where she obtained a Candidata Scientiarum in Materials Chemistry and Physics (Danish equivalent of a Master). Afterwards Kirsten moved to Stockholm University, Sweden and obtained a PhD in Structural Chemistry under supervision of Prof. Xiaodong Zou. Kirsten spent three years (2008-2011) as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Diamond Light Source, Beamline I19 Small-Molecule Single Crystal Diffraction, before becoming a Glasstone Research Fellow at the University of Oxford in 2011.
Research Interests
The use of Crystallography to understand the Solid State, especially for the case of modulated molecular structures.
Other Interests
Family: My husband Jeppe works at the Research Complex at Harwell with Dynamical Studies of the Solid State. We have two girls, Gry and Idun.
Hobbies: Outside of Chemistry, I enjoy spending time with my family and reading a good book.
