Dr Krister Bykvist
Academic Background
Dr Bykvist studied at Uppsala University in Sweden, obtaining his BA in 1991. He held a research position in Philosophy funded by the Swedish National Board for Industrial and Technical Development before completing his PhD in Practical Philosophy in 1999. He held a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Lund University, Sweden, then moved to the University of Cambridge where he was first a University Assistant Lecturer and then an Honorary Visiting Scholar in the Faculty of Philosophy.

Utilitarianism; consequentialism/deontology distinction; population ethics; the concept of well-being; time partiality; desire-based theories of well-being and morality; normativity.
Hobbies
Swedish fiddle music.
