Dr Patricia Daley
Academic Background
Dr Daley has taught Geography at University level since 1990, beginning as Assistant Professor in Geography at Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, then lecturing at Loughborough University of Technology. She came to Oxford in 1991 to take up a Fellowship at Jesus College. She also held a Lectureship in Human Geography at Pembroke College from 1991-2003. She was Tutor for Women at Jesus College from 1998 to 2004.

Human geography - philosophy and practice; development; African political geography; international migration and environmental issues.
Postgraduate Teaching
African Environments (Masters); Africa: violence, gender, refugees, political ecology, peace and security (Doctoral).
Research Interests
Refugees and humanitarian assistance; militarism, gender and genocidal violence in Central Africa; masculinities and violence in Africa; the environmental impact of development and the human impact of western approaches to conservation.
