Dr Zheng Jiang
Academic Background
Dr Jiang received his Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) from the Shandong Normal University (1998), Master of Science (Physical Chemistry) from Shandong University (2002), and PhD (Environmental Science) from Research Centre for Eco-Environmental Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS, 2005). In 2007, he took up an associate professorship at the Institute of Process Engineering, CAS, China. Before joining Jesus College in 2009, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory (ICL), Oxford.
Research Interests
Dr Jiang is a chemist whose research focuses in the interdisciplinary area of chemistry, chemical engineering, environment and energy sciences. In particular, he explores effective chemical engineering processes for sustainable energy systems; developing robust catalysts for clean energy conversion and control of pollutant emission from automobiles, as well as industrial combustors; and exploiting nanostructured semiconductors for solar energy conversion, such as photocatalytic water splitting and water purification.
Hobbies
In his spare time, Dr Jiang enjoys most sports including basket ball, badminton and table tennis. He also likes reading, travelling and discussing economic topics with friends.
