Ms Philippa Roberts
Academic Background
Philippa Roberts read Zoology as an undergraduate at New College, Oxford. She gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Cross-sector Partnership (PCCP) from the University of Cambridge Programme for Industry and the International Business Leaders Forum in 2003.
Career Background
Philippa began her development career at Earthwatch Institute (Europe), becoming Head of Corporate Programmes with the responsibility of developing and managing corporate partnerships. She then moved to Rio Tinto as Corporate Relations Adviser, managing the company's partnerships with environmental organisations. Her most recent position before joining Jesus College was as Head of Development at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) responsible for the charity's fundraising and membership.
Jesus College Role
The role of Director of Development is a new appointment for the College and is responsible for developing and implementing a Strategic Fundraising Plan to raise new philanthropic income in support of the College's mission and objectives. This includes major gift fundraising, annual fundraising from alumni and other stakeholder groups and working with an existing team to manage and oversee the College's established Alumni Relationships programme.
