"Pirates vs Mermaids", in rehearsal, August 2018

Jesus College has worked with the church of St. James in Clifton, Rotherham, and partners in the Sheffield area, in organising a children’s musical project in Rotherham for seven years now. A group of students (sometimes including a recent alumnus or two) spend the week in Rotherham seeing the production of a musical through from meeting the children and providing activities, care, and food; via organising stage design, creating costumes, helping the children read, sing, and learn their parts; to a performance to a packed church five or six days later. It is an exciting project which brings a great deal to the students who get involved and also contributes richly to the local community. Here are some news stories and links from previous years. Other articles can be found in College publications such as The Record and The Newsletter.
