Non-Stipendiary Junior Research Fellow in Chemistry
I studied a combination of chemistry and physics at Aarhus University in Denmark, where I continued onto a PhD in Chemistry, followed by a one year postdoc.
I am currently funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark for a two-year postdoc at Oxford and am a Non-Stipendiary Junior Research Fellow in Chemistry at Jesus College.
I am interested in the emergence of complexity from simple underlying principles. I work at the intersection between chemistry and physics to understand how local short-range order in disordered crystals give rise to interesting properties. During my PhD I explored how the local configurations of atoms and spins in disordered crystals can be measured and understood using new approaches. I now look at local order of atoms and spins in quantum materials.
I enjoy hiking, weaving, making pottery, brewing, fermenting food and a few other crafts.
