Jesus College, Oxford invites applications for a fixed-term 6-hour Stipendiary Lecturership in Politics from 1 October 2023 until 30 September 2024. The successful candidate will provide College tutorials and revision classes in the 1st year Practice of Politics paper and the 2nd year Political Sociology paper. In addition, the lecturer will be expected to set and mark College examinations, to participate in the routine administration of Politics, and to assist in the pastoral care of undergraduates reading the subject.

Candidates should have a strong educational background, with a good first degree in Politics and should be close to completion of or have obtained a doctorate in Politics, or close to completion. Some teaching experience would be an advantage.

The salary for the post is on a scale from £14,881 – £16,674 per annum (in 2022-23 terms, reviewed annually), depending on qualifications and experience, and membership of USS is offered. The lecturer may take a certain number of lunches and dinners free of charge during weeks 0 to 9 of each term. A research allowance and teaching book allowance are also offered, as well as access to a teaching room.
