Women in Science 2023!
Calling Year 12 women scientists… are you interested in finding out about studying science at university? Then this event could be for you!
In conjunction with the Oxford colleges of Trinity and Wadham, we run a Women in Science programme annually for 100 young female scientists in Year 12. The programme aims to encourage and inspire those who have an interest in science to explore its varied and exciting potential at university. This year, it is running on Friday 23rd June.
Delegates will hear from Oxford academics about a broad range of science subjects through a mixture of lectures and seminars, alongside admissions advice and support sessions. There will be opportunities to speak to current undergraduate science students and outreach staff.
Participants join us from state schools in the North East, Oxford, Wales and London. Here’s what some of our previous attendees say about this event:
‘Very interesting, they definitely sparked my motivation’.
‘I realised I should not be discouraged from a STEM career because of my colour and sex’.
‘I’ve learned there is more to the world of biology than I thought…astrobiology, bioengineering, and other aspects of science I’ve never even heard of that interest me’.
To be eligible to apply you must meet the following criteria:
