We are continuing to work hard to ensure we have all the information to hand to be able to make swift and effective decisions in response to the constantly changing picture that COVID-19 presents.
To ensure the health and wellbeing of all in our community, we will be running a restricted operation until further notice, in line with the Government’s latest advice. This means College will be staffed on site by a significantly reduced team, although many members of staff and our Fellows continue to work remotely to support the College and our community.
The COVID-19 situation continues to be of great concern and we understand that this is a challenging time for all in the Jesus College community and we send you all our best wishes. We are taking the following steps to inform, advise and manage the welfare of all College members:
- We are constantly monitoring of the outbreak
Like many other Oxford Colleges, we are running a COVID-19 planning group, consisting of College officers and other relevant staff, to monitor the situation and manage how we can best support our community at this time. The University and the Conference of Colleges have been working closely together to coordinate activities in response to the outbreak. The approach throughout the Collegiate University is to follow public health advice from Public Health England (PHE) and travel advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).
- We are providing the latest advice to our community
This is a rapidly changing situation and so, in the first instance, we advise all members of College to refer to the current guidelines on COVID-19, which can be found on the University of Oxford information page:
Information on precautionary measures you can take to avoid catching the virus can be found here.
Information on latest Public Health England advice can be found here.
Information on travel can be found here
- We are protecting the welfare of our community
The welfare of our students, staff, fellows and lecturers is our absolute priority and we are keeping all members of our community updated as the situation changes by email and text alert system. We are following all government guidance.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and we will continue to provide as much advice, care and support as we can to our community. Our academic and non-academic staff are making contingency plans to ensure continuity of College life as much as possible during the outbreak. Oxford has a strong history of welcoming students and staff from around the world to the UK, and they are an integral part of our community. We understand that College members may be worried about friends and family members in affected areas around the world, and our thoughts go to all those affected by this outbreak.
