We are continuing to work hard to ensure we have all the information to hand to be able to make swift and effective decisions in response to the constantly changing picture that COVID-19 presents.

The health and wellbeing of all in our community remains our priority. Teaching remains a mix of online and in-person lectures and tutorials. Our students have been placed into household 'bubbles' to reduce the risk of transmission, and all social-distancing and PPE precautions are being taken across College.

Jesus College COVID-19 Planning Group

The COVID-19 Planning Group was set-up in March to manage all aspects of how the pandemic impacts College life and our people. Its members include the College Officers and other relevant staff. The groups key aims are:

  • To monitor the outbreak and make the best decisions for our community

Like many other Oxford Colleges, our COVID-19 planning group is meeting weekly to monitor the situation and manage how we can best support our community at this time. The University and the Conference of Colleges have also been working closely together to coordinate activities in response to the outbreak. The approach throughout the Collegiate University is to follow public health advice from the Government, Public Health England (PHE) and travel advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).

  • To provide the latest advice to our community

This continues to be a rapidly changing situation and so, in the first instance, we advise all members of College to refer to the current University guidelines on COVID-19, which can be found here

We are keeping all members of our community updated by email and text alert system. In addition, we have a special COVID-19 section on our intranet, which includes a wide range of information for College members, for example safety protocols, risk assessments and welfare support guidelines.

Oxford has a strong history of welcoming students and staff from around the world to the UK, and they are an integral part of our community. We understand that College members may be worried about friends and family members in affected areas around the world, and our thoughts go to all those affected by this outbreak.
