For the fourth summer in a row, students from Jesus College have joined forces with local children and helpers in Rotherham to put on a musical, all within the space of a week, the aim being to offer some creative enjoyment to local children who may not have many other opportunities over the summer break. Of course, our students love it too!

This year's production, Robin Hood, took place on Saturday 16th August at the Church of St James in Clifton, Rotherham. Slightly smaller than in previous years, it featured mainly primary-school-age children, guided by Jesus undergraduates Emily Smith, Joseph Herman, Ellie Berry and Nathan Joss, along with recent graduates Jonny Woodward and Olivia Madin. The Jesus students helped the children put together the scenery and publicity, taught them the songs and dances, helped them with reading, memorizing lines and voice production, and oversaw their social skills, as well as entertaining (!) and generally looking after them, ensuring a fun experience was had by all.
