College Library and IT Provision

The College Library is open 24 hours a day providing students with up-to-date books in multiple copies as well as a variety of comfortable spaces in which to read them. The library holds 50,000 books, incorporating a specialist Celtic Library reflecting Jesus College's historic association with Wales, and the Librarian encourages all students to make recommendations for new books.

We place great importance on IT provision in College, and have an IT support team on hand in College to offer advice. Read about our excellent IT Facilities.

Jesus College is located on an attractive historic site in the heart of Oxford, close to the libraries and University departments and faculties (including the Science Area), as well as the main shops, theatres, cinemas, museums, bars and restaurants. For the exact location, see the University's Map of the Colleges and Halls.

We also have two Annexe Sites, where students usually live after their first year.

With approximately 350 undergraduates and about 230 graduates, Jesus College is a medium-sized college with a friendly, close-knit, and International community.

Social Life

All undergraduates are automatically members of the Junior Common Room. The lively JCR committee organises a wide range of social events, including fancy-dress nights, quizzes, karaoke, a sports day and dinner dance and a biennial Summer Ball. The College also boasts excellent sports facilities, a student-designed college bar, a music room, and a Chapel, which is home to a non-auditioning Choir and various music concerts.
