The Cheng Kar Shun Digital Hub is an interdisciplinary education, research and events space at Jesus College Oxford. It opened in 2022, and forms part of the College’s new Cheng Yu Tung Building on the corner of Market Street and Cornmarket.
FACILITIES
The Digital Hub’s tiered forum, centred on a sweeping curved staircase that rises four storeys high, provides a range of convening spaces. From small and medium-sized meeting rooms, and seated breakout areas, to the stunning lower ground floor conference area, the Hub gives both the College, and the University of Oxford, a dynamic facility for interdisciplinary digital research and knowledge exchange, teaching and public engagement.
The Digital Hub’s digital streaming technology enables students to have an exceptional learning experience, and supports academics to engage with colleagues, researchers and institutions across the globe. It also helps the College to showcase its research and people to wider audiences, through a programme of innovative and immersive digital events.
Above the entrance on Market Street, the Digital Hub gatehouse is topped by the Buchanan Tower Room, an exclusive events and exhibition space, which is also home to the Rosaline Wong Gallery. The Buchanan Tower Room offers one of Oxford’s most captivating views of the famous city skyline, and the College’s Elizabethan buildings.
CONFERENCES AND EVENTS
The Digital Hub is available to hire for a wide range of conferences and events, from board meetings or company training sessions, to exclusive drinks receptions and large symposia.
