Jesus and Oriel Colleges, Oxford, invite applications for a fixed-term four-hour Stipendiary Lectureship in English Literature 650-1350 from 1 October 2017 until 30 June 2019. He or she will also be expected to participate in the routine administration of teaching, and to assist in the pastoral care of undergraduates reading the subject.
Candidates should have a strong educational background, with a good first degree in English Literature or Language (or equivalent) and should be close to completion of or have obtained a doctorate in English Literature or Language. Some teaching experience is essential. The salary for the post is on a scale from £8,648- £9,767 p.a. (in 2016-17 terms) depending on qualifications and experience, and membership of USS is offered. Various dining rights in the colleges are offered during weeks 0 to 9 of each term. Research and teaching book allowances are also offered, as well as access to teaching rooms in the colleges.
