The Faculty of Philosophy, University of Oxford, in association with Jesus College, are seeking to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in Ethics to cover the teaching and other duties of the permanent postholder during a period of research leave. This post is tenable from 1 January 2018 for a fixed-term of 12 months.
The person appointed will be expected to provide undergraduate and graduate teaching in ethics. This will include designing and delivering 16 hours of lectures or graduate classes for the Faculty in each academic year, and undertaking 8 contact hours of tutorial or small group teaching for Jesus College per week. In addition, the appointed person will conduct research in ethics, and will undertake administration for the Faculty and the College including, but not limited to, participating in the annual admissions exercises and acting as assessor for undergraduate and graduate examinations. The precise configuration of duties and areas of teaching will be agreed on appointment.
