The College invites applications for a fixed-term five-hour per week Retained Lecturership in Mathematics from 1 October 2017 – 31 December 2017. The successful candidate will provide sabbatical teaching cover for Professor Andrew Dancer. In addition, he or she will be expected to set and mark College examinations, to participate in the routine administration of the subject, to take part in undergraduate admissions if required, and to assist in the pastoral care of undergraduates reading the subject.
Candidates should have a strong educational background, with a good first degree in Mathematics. Experience of and ability to teach undergraduates students is essential. The salary for the post comes with a retainer and entitlement to standard tuition rates as set out by the Senior Tutors’ Committee for the actual teaching carried out for the College. Membership of USS is also offered. The lecturer may take lunch and dinner free of charge during weeks 0 to 9 of each term. A research allowance and teaching book allowance are also offered, as well as access to a teaching room.
