The Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages and Faculty of English, in association with Jesus College, are seeking to appoint a 0.5 post to undertake advanced teaching and academic research in Celtic languages and literature. This is a fixed-term post tenable for one year from 1 October 2017.

The post will involve up to 7 hours a week of teaching covering medieval, middle and modern Welsh Language and Literature; and old and middle Irish Language and Literature. Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree and normally a Master's degree in Celtic; and must hold a PhD/DPhil in Celtic (or have submitted a doctoral thesis by 1 August 2017); and should have the ability to teach undergraduate students across a range of topics in Celtic language and literature in both the Welsh and Irish branches. They should possess a good a good knowledge of Medieval Irish and Welsh.
