Academic Background
Originally from Southern Germany, Stefanie studied German and Theology at the University of Eichstätt, came to Oxford as a graduate student to St. Edmund Hall where she specialised in the area of Medieval German Mysticism and completed her MSt in Research Methods in Modern Foreign Languages in 1998, funded by the British Academy, and her Staatsexamen in Germany in 1999.
In the following years, Stefanie taught German in the contexts of Secondary School and Adult Education near Manchester.
When returning to Oxford in 2013, she started teaching Translation into German to all year groups for different colleges. She now teaches students from New College, Brasenose, St. Peter’s, Hertford, Queen’s, Oriel, Jesus, Merton and Pembroke College.
She also teaches business German and enjoys this very much.

Other information
In her non-academic life she likes to play the flute and read novels which could be used for translation.
