Congratulations to Jesus College student Sarah Marshall (2021, History & Economics) who has been named in the OUWBC crew for the 77th Women’s Boat Race on Sunday 26th March.

Sarah Marshall, a 2nd year undergraduate at Jesus College

The Gemini Boat Race 2023 Crew Announcement was made in London on Monday 6th March. Chair of The Boat Race Company Ltd, Siobhan Cassidy said:

“Today 36 dedicated students representing 9 nationalities, all of whom are brilliant athletes, are announced as the crews for The 2023 Gemini Boat Race. The crews are led by their four presidents, Tassilo, Sara, Ollie and Caoimhe and backed by four world class coaches, Sean, Rob, Paddy and Andy. We all have a part to play in The Boat Race but when the Umpire yells Go! on Sunday the 26th, it really is all over to the crews, so let me end by congratulating them in advance and may the crews have their best performance yet!”.

Sarah, a member of the JCR and who has also competed in the Junior British Rowing Championship, says:

“I’m so thankful for this opportunity to take part in the Boat Race. It is a huge privilege to race alongside some of the most driven and determined women I know, and to be able to represent the College and University on a wider stage. I am really looking forward to the race itself, the culmination of six months of intense training. Balancing academic work and training is such a rewarding challenge, and has made this year a truly special experience”.

  • Claire Aitken (Oriel)
  • Sara Helin (St. Peter’s)
  • Ella Stadler (Exeter)
