Professor Dirk Van Hulle is a Professorial Fellow of Jesus College and Professor of Bibliography and Modern Book History at the University of Oxford.
Academic Background
Dirk Van Hulle finished his PhD at the University of Antwerp in 1999 with a thesis called ‘Textual Awareness: A Genetic Study of Late Manuscripts by Joyce, Proust and Mann’. Since 2004, he has been professor of English Literature at the University of Antwerp, directing the Centre for Manuscript Genetics. His work on the Beckett Digital Manuscript Project was awarded the 2019 Prize for a Bibliography, Archive or Digital Project of the Modern Language Association (MLA).
