Evolution, behaviour, ecology. Cross taxonomic comparisons of morphology to reveal adaptation and of genes to reveal population or epidemic history.

Hobbies include cooking, gardening and walking. Sons are Joe and Ben. Married to Claire, whose daughter is Elizabeth.
