Jesus College, Oxford invites applications for a fixed-term 6-hour Stipendiary Lecturership in Engineering science (Energy) from 1 October 2024 until 30 September 2025.The College is willing to making two appointments to cover the requirements of this post. Candidates are asked to indicate in their application whether they wish to be considered for the full 6-hour post or for a part of the role, in which case they should clearly indicate which aspects of teaching they can cover.

The successful candidate will provide College tutorials in Engineering science (Energy) . In addition, the lecturer will be expected to set and mark College examinations, to participate in the routine administration of Engineering science (Energy), and to assist in the pastoral care of undergraduates reading the subject.

 

Candidates should have a strong educational background, with a good first degree in Engineering Science and should be close to completion of or have obtained a doctorate in Engineering Science. Some teaching and tutorial experience would be an advantage. The salary for the post is on a scale from £15,244 – £16,983 per annum (in 2023-24 terms, reviewed annually), depending on qualifications and experience, and membership of USS is offered. The lecturer may take a certain number of lunches and dinners free of charge during weeks 0 to 9 of each term.  A research allowance and teaching book allowance are also offered, as well as access to a teaching room.
