Jesus College Shakespeare Project: Titus Andronicus tickets

9 February 2024

Following the tremendous success of Michaelmas term’s production of Richard III, the Jesus College Shakespeare Project continues its 2023/2024 season with Titus Andronicus, Shakespeare’s blood-soaked early tragedy of violence and revenge.

“O, what a sympathy of woe is this;
As far from help as limbo is from bliss.”

Act 3, Scene 1

The play follows the ageing Titus Andronicus, Rome’s greatest general, who, after a long and distinguished military career, returns home victorious from his final campaign against the Goths, ready for retirement. However, when he gives his consent to what he believes will be his final act of violence, it sets in motion an unstoppable cycle of sickening, and deeply disturbing, acts of revenge from which no one will remain unscathed.
