Jesus Entrepreneurs Network launches new lunchtime events series

17 February 2022

The Jesus Entrepreneurs Network (JEN) has launched a new ‘lunch and learn’ event series to celebrate ingenuity and entrepreneurship at Jesus College.

The ‘How We Built This’ online series showcases Jesus alumni who have created their own start-ups and built successful businesses. They’ll be discussing the inspirations and ideas that helped them to develop a vision for the business, the collaborative processes involved, and the challenges they faced along the way.

The first ‘lunch and learn’ event on Friday 25th February (12.30-13.30 GMT) features Alex McCallion (2014 Jesus College, BA Economics and Management) and Jonathan Tan (2014 Exeter College, BA PPE), who will be discussing how they built Greater Change – a social enterprise that employs technology to help people experiencing homelessness begin new lives.

Over the past 4 years, Greater Change has supported over 400 people experiencing homelessness, and of these people, over two-thirds have left homelessness behind. They’ve attracted grant funding and social investment from some of the biggest names in the social enterprise space. Greater Change was incubated by one of the UK’s most respected charities, Aspire Oxfordshire, (a previous Guardian Charity of the Year winner) as well as Oxford University Innovation.

Future events in the series will be announced shortly.
