Student entrepreneurs gear-up for JEN-z Venture Forge Pitch Night

15 April 2024

Jesus College is to host its first start-up competition for student entrepreneurs. The JEN-z Venture Forge Competition Pitch Night, which takes place on Thursday 9th May, will see some of the College’s most talented student entrepreneurs showcase their projects to a panel of alumni innovators, investors, and industry leaders. On offer is a £1500 prize pool to kick-start their ventures.

The competition was launched earlier this year through the Jesus Entrepreneurs Network (JEN) – a professional network of alumni committed to sharing expertise, advice, and skills with Jesus students, fellow alumni, and friends of the College. Members of the network have been mentoring the students in preparation for delivering their Dragon’s Den style pitches at the evening event in the Cheng Kar Shun Digital Hub.

The competition project lead, Eve Bodniece, says, “We are really excited to showcase the work of our young Jesus entrepreneurs, and have been so impressed with the range of innovative ideas they have developed.

I would like to add a special thanks to our dedicated JEN mentors who have supported the students throughout their journey to the pitch night. Their commitment has been hugely valuable in preparing the students for this final pitch.”

The JEN-z Venture Forge Competition Pitch Night is open to everyone in the Jesus community to attend. Admission to alumni and guests is £10, students £5 and complimentary for JEN members. To book tickets, go to https://tinyurl.com/bdffyp5m.
