Edward Buxton - Organ Scholar in residence

Edward BuxtonEd joined Jesus College as the Junior Organ Scholar in October 2016. He began his musical education with the piano aged six, keen to play the organ but told that starting with the piano was the way forward. Not long afterwards did he take up the trumpet, soon becoming a member of a variety of school ensembles, including the Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Band and fun-loving Brass Band. As an organist he has enjoyed taking a leading role musically in important school services as well as regular Sunday services and choir rehearsals at his local church, St Mark’s Teddington. With Grade 8 merits on both the organ and piano, Ed enjoys all the musical opportunities which Oxford hosts, most particularly in Church music.
